Airport Lounge Access With Credit Cards
Fees and lounge rules verified: October 3, 2026
Anyone who has waited alone at a gate knows the feeling. The delay stretches on while the seats around you fill up. A lounge won’t fix your flight, but it changes the wait. You get a calm seat, working Wi-Fi and staff nearby. The right card opens those doors without a separate membership. The wrong card can cost hundreds of dollars for two visits.
This guide compares credit cards with airport lounge access in 2026. You’ll see what each card costs and who it really suits. Each card here is U.S.-issued and usually needs U.S. credit history.
Which credit cards give you airport lounge access?
Credit cards with airport lounge access include lounge entry as a perk. Most use Priority Pass, the issuer’s own lounges or airline clubs. Top 2026 picks include the Amex Platinum at $895 a year. The Chase Sapphire Reserve costs $795, and Venture X costs $395. The United Club Card costs $695 and includes full club membership.
| Card | Annual fee | Lounge access | Best for |
| Amex Platinum | $895 | Centurion + Global Lounge Collection | Widest network |
| Chase Sapphire Reserve | $795 | Sapphire Lounges + Priority Pass Select | Traveling with guests |
| Capital One Venture X | $395 | Capital One Lounges/Landings + Priority Pass | Lowest premium fee |
| Citi Strata Elite | $595 | Priority Pass Select + 4 Admirals Club passes | AA flyers using points |
| Citi / AAdvantage Executive | $695 | Full Admirals Club membership | Unlimited Admirals Club |
| Delta SkyMiles Reserve | $650 | 15 Sky Club visits/yr + Centurion on Delta | Delta loyalists |
| United Club Card | $695 | Full United Club membership | United hub flyers |
| Atmos Rewards Summit | $395 | 8 Alaska Lounge passes/yr | Alaska/Hawaiian flyers |
| U.S. Bank Altitude Connect | $0 | 4 Priority Pass visits/yr | Occasional flyers |
Priority Pass, Airline Clubs and the Networks Behind Your Boarding Pass
Airport lounges come from three kinds of operators. Airlines run clubs such as Sky Clubs, Admirals Clubs and United Clubs. Card issuers like American Express, Capital One and Chase run lounges too. Independent networks such as Priority Pass fill in the gaps. Which doors open depends on your lounge access credit card.
What Is Priority Pass Select?
Priority Pass Select is the version premium credit cards give away. It opens the same independent network as a paid membership. Most card-issued memberships leave out airport restaurants and other experiences. Visit limits and guest rules depend on your card, not Priority Pass. Learn more on the official Priority Pass website.
Is Airport Lounge Access Worth It?
For frequent flyers, yes, lounge access usually pays off. Fly more than a few times a year, and lounges save stress. A quiet seat, reliable Wi-Fi and free food stop feeling like extras. Occasional flyers should treat lounge access as a bonus, not a must. It’s rarely worth paying a large annual fee just for that. For destination ideas, read our safest countries for solo female travelers guide.
Tip: On a late solo layover, check the lounge’s closing time first. Some lounges close at night, so plan where you’ll wait afterward.

How to Access Airport Lounges With a Credit Card
Getting into a lounge with a credit card is easier than before. Many travel and premium cards now build lounge access into their benefits. Often that’s a Priority Pass membership you’d otherwise buy separately. Other cards include the issuer’s own lounges or an airline club. Some simply give you a set number of day passes.
Before you apply, check three things at your home airport. Which lounges sit past security in the terminals you use? How many visits does the card include each year? And do guests get in free, or do they pay?
Comparing the Best Credit Cards for Airport Lounge Access
Flight delays are common enough to make lounge access valuable. You can track delays yourself with BTS on-time performance data. The quick-picks table above compares fees; here’s what changed in 2026.
What changed in 2026
- February 1: Venture X ended free guest access for its cardholders. Capital One Lounges now charge $45 per adult guest. Children 17 and under cost $25 at those lounges. Priority Pass lounges charge Venture X guests $35 per visit.
- July 8: Centurion guests must now be on the cardmember’s flight. Connecting travelers can enter only within five hours of departure.
- August 15: Chase Sapphire Lounges left the Priority Pass and LoungeKey networks.
- August 23: The Citi / AAdvantage Executive annual fee rose to $695.
Choosing the Right Credit Card for Lounge Access
How to Choose a Credit Card for Airport Lounge Access
The real question isn’t whether you want lounge access. It’s whether you’d use it enough to justify a card fee. A Prestige Priority Pass membership bought alone costs $469 a year.
Treat a credit card with lounge access like any financial decision. Lounge access rarely justifies a card all by itself. The rewards, credits and protections must beat the annual fee.
Start with your airports, then pick the network that serves them. American Express, Chase and Capital One run their own lounges. American, Delta, United and Alaska tie lounge perks to co-branded cards. Independent lounges are reachable through Priority Pass and Escape. Map the lounges in your terminals before you fill out an application.
Guest Policies and Lounge Fine Print
Guests don’t always get in free, and 2026 tightened the rules. Venture X cardholders pay $45 per adult guest at Capital One Lounges. Priority Pass lounges charge Venture X guests $35 per visit. Centurion guests must now be on the cardmember’s own flight. If you rarely travel alone, guest rules can outweigh the annual fee.
Tip: A friend on a different flight can’t be your Centurion guest. Since July 8, 2026, guests must share the cardmember’s flight.
What Lounge Life Is Really Like
It’s worth tempering your expectations before your first lounge visit. Lines at the door can be long during peak travel times. When space runs out, staff may waitlist or turn people away. On a bad day, a crowded lounge barely beats the gate. If you rarely fly, a premium lounge card is usually poor value.
Tip: If a lounge is full, ask to join the waitlist. Staff may call you in once space opens up again.

Priority Pass Membership Explained
What Is Priority Pass?
Priority Pass is an independent lounge network with no airline attached. Chime describes it as 1,800+ airport lounges and experiences worldwide. Chase counts more than 1,300 participating lounges in the same network. The gap comes from airport restaurants and other non-lounge experiences.
Many credit cards with airport lounge access include it for free. You can also buy a membership directly in three tiers:
- Standard: $99 a year, plus $35 for every member or guest visit.
- Standard Plus: $329 a year with 10 member visits included, then $35 each.
- Prestige: $469 a year with unlimited member visits for you.
Guests pay $35 per visit on every plan. See the current plans on the official Priority Pass help page.
Is Priority Pass Worth the Membership Fee?
It depends on how often you’ll walk through the door. Standard costs $99 plus $35 for every visit you make. Standard Plus becomes the cheaper plan from about seven visits yearly. Prestige only beats Standard Plus at roughly 15 visits a year.
Location matters as much as price when you compare plans. Smaller airports are less likely to have a Priority Pass lounge. At big airports, the nearest one may sit far from your gate.
Does O’Hare Have a Priority Pass Lounge?
Yes, Chicago O’Hare has three Priority Pass lounges in Terminal 5. Terminal 5 mainly handles international flights at the airport. From another terminal, you may need to clear security again. Always check where a lounge sits before you count on it.
Priority Pass Lounge Access and Entry Rules
Priority Pass entry rules are simpler than they first look. Whichever lounge access credit card you carry, the desk checks three things:
- A same-day boarding pass for a departing flight.
- Your Priority Pass card, usually the digital one in the app.
- A photo ID, if the lounge asks to see one.
Most lounges admit you up to three hours before departure. Each lounge lists its own conditions inside the Priority Pass app. Centurion Lounges keep that three-hour window for originating flights. On connections, Centurion allows entry up to five hours before departure. Even with a valid membership, a full lounge can turn you away.
Tip: Screenshot your digital Priority Pass card before you leave home. Airport Wi-Fi can fail right when you reach the front desk.

How to Activate Priority Pass Select Membership
Card-issued memberships aren’t bought on the Priority Pass website. First, enroll through your card issuer before your first trip. Chime members, for example, enroll inside the Chime app. They then receive a digital card in the Priority Pass app. After enrolling, that digital card appears for every future visit.
How to Get Priority Pass Lounge Access With Citi
At Citi, Priority Pass Select comes with the Citi Strata Elite℠ Card. Citi values the membership at $469, covering up to two guests. It doesn’t include access to Priority Pass restaurants, though. Enroll through Citi, then use the digital card in the app. Citi’s American Airlines cards focus on Admirals Club access instead. See the Citi Strata Elite page for current terms.
Affordable Credit Cards With Priority Pass Benefits
Does Chime Offer Priority Pass?
Yes, and it doesn’t require a premium card or credit check. Members need at least $3,000 in qualifying direct deposits each month. That earns Chime Prime status, which includes a Priority Pass membership. The membership comes with two complimentary visits every year. The status isn’t permanent, so watch your monthly deposit totals. If deposits drop below $3,000, your tier changes automatically. Read the full Chime Prime details before relying on it.
Tip: Wait until Chime Prime shows in your app before booking around it. Your tier changes if deposits dip below $3,000 in a month.
Which Credit Cards Offer Priority Pass Without Annual Fee?
The cheapest lounge access credit cards charge no annual fee at all. The U.S. Bank Altitude Connect has a $0 annual fee. It includes four complimentary Priority Pass visits every year.
Small-business owners can look at the U.S. Bank Business Altitude Connect. It waives its fee in year one, then charges $95 yearly. It also includes four Priority Pass visits each year.
The Signify Business Cash℠ Card by Wells Fargo has no annual fee. You pay per Priority Pass visit, like Standard without the $99 fee.
Tip: Four free visits cover two round trips with one visit each way.
Premium Credit Cards With Priority Pass Benefits
Which Premium Credit Cards Offer Priority Pass?
Most premium lounge access credit cards include Priority Pass Select free. Examples include Sapphire Reserve, Venture X, Strata Elite and Bilt Palladium. That convenience costs hundreds of dollars a year in fees. So the card’s other perks must earn their keep, too. Compare guest rules and authorized-user costs, not just your access.
Best Credit Card for Guest Lounge Access
If you rarely fly alone, the Chase Sapphire Reserve stands out. You can bring two guests into every Sapphire Lounge in 2026. Several rival cards now charge for guests instead. The Citi Strata Elite‘s Priority Pass membership covers up to two guests. The Bilt Palladium‘s Priority Pass membership covers two guests as well. Venture X guests, by contrast, now pay $35 to $45 per visit.
Tip: For a girls’ trip, compare guest rules before annual fees. Two paid guests can quickly outweigh a cheaper annual fee.

Best Card for Lounge Access for a Large Group
On most other cards, adding people to your account costs extra. The Citi Strata Elite charges $75 for each authorized user. Authorized users can get their own Priority Pass Select with two guests. Venture X now charges $125 for authorized-user lounge access. The Sapphire Reserve charges $195 for every authorized user you add.
Which Citi Cards Have Airport Lounge Access and What Are Their Benefits?
Citi offers three lounge access credit cards, each for different travelers. Citi Strata Elite pairs Priority Pass with four yearly Admirals Club passes. The AAdvantage Executive includes a full Admirals Club membership. The AAdvantage Globe gives four Admirals Club passes without a membership.
Which Citi Card Has the Best Lounge Access Value?
It depends on how often you fly with American Airlines. If you visit an Admirals Club most months, choose the Executive. Its full membership is the strongest lounge benefit Citi offers. Occasional American flyers will find the Globe a better fit. Citi estimates its four passes are worth over $300 a year. The Strata Elite suits travelers who want Priority Pass everywhere. It still adds a few Admirals Club visits each year.
Citi® / AAdvantage® Executive Card
Best for: American Airlines flyers who want unlimited Admirals Club entry.
Annual fee: $695, up from $595 on August 23, 2026.
This is Citi’s card for a full Admirals Club membership. It covers you and up to two guests traveling with you. You can extend lounge access to 10 authorized users for a fee. The August 2026 refresh added up to $100 in yearly credits. Those credits cover in-flight and Admirals Club purchases on the card. Some older credits are being phased out after the refresh. Check Citi‘s current benefit list rather than relying on older reviews. Full terms are on the official card page.
Citi® / AAdvantage® Globe™ Card
Best for: AA flyers who want occasional lounge visits without a membership.
Annual fee: $350.
You get four Admirals Club Globe Passes every calendar year. Each pass is valid for 24 hours at nearly 50 lounges. The card also includes a companion certificate every card anniversary.
Guide to Airport Lounge Networks
Thousands of lounges operate worldwide, and no single card opens all. Airlines run some, card issuers run others, and independents run the rest. Entry can mean a membership, a day pass or a card benefit. Rules for children and guests vary widely between networks. That’s why lounge access credit cards differ so much in real value.
Airline-Operated Lounges
American, Delta and United each run large networks around their hubs. American has nearly 50 Admirals Club lounges across its network. United has more than 45 United Club locations worldwide. Delta’s Sky Clubs extend further through SkyTeam partner lounges. Each airline also runs lounges for premium-cabin passengers only. Those are American’s Flagship Lounges, Delta One Lounges and United Polaris lounges.
Elite status, a premium ticket or the right card gets you in. Alaska Airlines runs a smaller network called Alaska Lounges. Its top card, the Atmos Rewards Summit, includes eight passes yearly. Those are lounge passes, not a full lounge membership.
American Express Lounges
American Express runs 17 Centurion Lounge locations in the U.S. New lounges at Newark and Amsterdam are slated for 2026. Entry comes with the consumer and business Platinum cards. The Centurion card and both Delta Reserve cards also qualify. Platinum cardholders also get the wider Global Lounge Collection. It covers more than 1,550 lounges across 140 countries. Check the official Centurion access rules before you fly.
Other Card Issuer Lounges
Capital One runs Capital One Lounges and smaller Capital One Landings. It announced a new Charlotte (CLT) lounge in January 2026. Venture X cardholders get in free at these lounges. Everyone else pays $90 for a single visit.
Chase runs nine Sapphire Lounge by The Club locations in the U.S. They’re in Boston, Dallas, Las Vegas, JFK and LaGuardia. Philadelphia, Phoenix, San Diego and Washington Dulles have one too. Dulles uses the Etihad Lounge, and Hong Kong has another. Since August 15, 2026, these lounges have left Priority Pass. You now need an eligible Chase card to get in. If you land in New York, follow our 3-day NYC itinerary.
Priority Pass
Priority Pass is the independent network covered earlier in this guide. It’s the lounge program most premium cards give their cardholders. Only a small share of its lounges sit in the U.S. You need to enroll through your card before your first visit.
Escape Lounges
Escape Lounges sell passes to any traveler, whatever airline you fly. Thirteen U.S. locations also accept Priority Pass memberships. Some operate as Centurion Studio partners, so check the Amex lounge finder. Prices vary by airport, so check the Escape Lounges site first.
Florida flyers can use Escape Lounges at Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach. Both help if you’re heading south for spring break in Florida.
Plaza Premium
Plaza Premium is an independent operator with few U.S. lounges. Its lounges appear in partner networks like the Global Lounge Collection. Check your card’s lounge finder before paying for a pass.
Air Space
Air Space lounges operate at Cleveland, San Diego and New York JFK. They sell day passes, with prices that change based on availability. They’re also part of the Amex Global Lounge Collection.
LoungeBuddy
LoungeBuddy, owned by American Express, sells one-time lounge passes. It covers lounges at more than 150 airports worldwide. You don’t need a membership to buy a pass.
Credit Cards With Airport Lounge Access
Lounge benefits on credit cards come in two broad forms. Some cards include a Priority Pass Select membership. Others tie lounge perks to one airline or card issuer. Here’s who offers what among credit cards with airport lounge access.
Which Credit Cards Offer Priority Pass Select?
Priority Pass Select comes with a long list of cards. Confirmed 2026 examples include Sapphire Reserve, Venture X and Strata Elite. The Bilt Palladium covers the cardholder and up to two guests. See the Bilt Palladium page for current benefits. The no-fee Altitude Connect offers four free visits a year instead.
The HSBC Elite card requires an HSBC banking relationship to apply. Check its current lounge terms directly with HSBC first.
Card-Specific Lounge Perks
Beyond Priority Pass, many cards tie perks to one airline or issuer. The benefits below were checked against issuer pages on October 3, 2026.
- Citi® / AAdvantage® Executive: Full Admirals Club membership, plus up to two traveling guests.
- Delta SkyMiles® Reserve: 15 Sky Club visits yearly, unlimited after $75,000 in spending. Centurion access applies on Delta flights booked with the card.
- American Express Platinum Card®: Access to the full American Express Global Lounge Collection network.
- Atmos™ Rewards Summit: Eight Alaska Lounge passes a year, issued two per quarter.
- United℠ Explorer Card: Two one-time United Club passes for you each year.
- United Club℠ Card: Full United Club membership covering every United Club location.
Best Credit Cards for Airport Lounge Access
Is Lounge Access Worth the Annual Fee?
There’s no single best card for lounge access in 2026. Lounge access is a core part of what you pay for. A stand-alone United Club membership is worth at least $750 yearly. So a card that bundles one can look like a real bargain.
The value is personal, though, and depends on how you travel. Some travelers will pay almost anything to escape a crowded terminal. Others see the crowds as simply part of the travel experience. That’s why this guide isn’t a ranked list of cards. Each pick below suits a different kind of traveler.
Best Credit Cards for Airport Lounge Access of September 2026
- American Express Platinum Card®: best overall lounge network
- Chase Sapphire Reserve®: best for traveling with guests
- Capital One Venture X: best low-fee premium card
- Citi Strata Elite℠: best for American Airlines flyers who earn Citi points
- Delta SkyMiles® Reserve: best for Delta flyers
- United Club℠ Card: best for United flyers
- Atmos™ Rewards Summit: best for Alaska and Hawaiian flyers
- United℠ Explorer Card: best taste of lounge life
American Express Platinum Card®
Is the American Express Platinum Card Worth the Annual Fee?
Best for: frequent flyers who want the widest lounge choice.
Annual fee: $895.
The Platinum Card fee is among the highest on any card. Much of the value sits in travel, dining and shopping credits. Many of those credits require enrollment before you can use them. Travelers who enjoy chasing credits can earn the fee back. Travelers who don’t will struggle to justify the cost.
What Benefits Come With the American Express Platinum Card?
No card opens more lounge doors than this one. Cardholders get Centurion Lounges plus the Global Lounge Collection. That collection covers more than 1,550 lounges in 140 countries. Its rewards are narrow, though, outside select travel bookings. Most other spending earns just 1 point per dollar.
Watch out: Since July 8, 2026, Centurion guests must share your flight. Connecting travelers can enter only within five hours of departure. Full terms are on the official card page.
Delta SkyMiles® Reserve American Express Card
Which Card Is Best for Frequent Delta Flyers?
Best for: Delta loyalists who connect through Sky Club hubs.
Annual fee: $650.
Every major airline offers a premium card for its own lounges. Delta‘s card goes further by adding Centurion Lounges on Delta flights.
What Benefits Come With the Delta SkyMiles Reserve Card?

Does the Delta SkyMiles Reserve Card Offer a Companion Certificate?
Yes, and you can use the annual Companion Certificate in first class. On some fares, that alone can recover the whole annual fee. See the official benefit page for current terms.
United Club℠ Card
Which Card Is Best for Frequent United Flyers?
Best for: United flyers who pass through hubs with United Clubs.
Annual fee: $695.
What Benefits Come With the United Club Card?
The headline benefit is a full United Club membership. That membership is valued at a minimum of $750 a year. Frequent hub travelers can justify the card on that perk alone.
Does the United Club Card Include Free Checked Bags?
Yes, your first and second checked bags fly free. A companion on your reservation gets the same two free bags. That adds up quickly when you travel as a pair. Full details are on the official card page.
Atmos™ Rewards Summit Visa Infinite® Credit Card
Which Card Is Best for Frequent Alaska Airlines Flyers?
Best for: frequent flyers on Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines.
Annual fee: $395.
What Benefits Come With the Atmos Rewards Summit Visa Infinite Card?
You get eight Alaska Lounge passes a year, two per quarter. Each pass admits one adult plus up to two children under 21. Every account anniversary brings a 25,000-point Global Companion Award. Spend $60,000 in an anniversary year to add a 100,000-point award.
You and up to six guests on your reservation check bags free. The Atmos Rewards Summit also earns bonus points on foreign transactions. Full benefits are on the official card page.
Chase Sapphire Reserve®
Which Card Is Best for Priority Pass and Chase Lounge Access?
Best for: travelers who often bring a companion on their trips.
Annual fee: $795, plus $195 per authorized user.
It pairs Priority Pass Select with every Sapphire Lounge by The Club. You can bring two guests into any Sapphire Lounge location.
What Benefits Come With the Chase Sapphire Reserve Card?
A statement credit of up to $120 arrives every four years. It covers Global Entry, TSA PreCheck or NEXUS application fees. Much of the remaining value comes from merchant-specific perks. One example is a $300 yearly Exclusive Tables dining credit. That credit arrives in two halves of $150 each year.
Is the Annual Fee Worth It?
For regular travelers, the annual fee is usually worth paying. A $300 annual travel credit drops the effective fee to $495. The rest depends on whether you’d use the merchant credits anyway.
Watch out: Sapphire Lounges left Priority Pass on August 15, 2026. Only eligible Chase cardholders can get into them now. Full terms are on the official card page.
Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card
Which Card Is Best for Priority Pass and Capital One Lounge Access?
Best for: solo travelers who want premium lounge access for less.
Primary cardholders get Capital One Lounges and Capital One Landings. They also get complimentary access to Priority Pass lounges.
Is the Capital One Venture X Worth the Annual Fee?
For most travelers, the Venture X math works without much effort. A $300 travel credit offsets most of the $395 annual fee. Each anniversary also brings 10,000 bonus miles to your account.
What Benefits Come With the Capital One Venture X Card?
Venture X keeps the flexible redemptions that made the original Venture popular. Miles can cover recent travel purchases as a statement credit. Another option is booking travel through Capital One with your miles. Or transfer miles to one of Capital One’s airline or hotel partners.
Drawbacks and Blind Spots
Free guest access on this card ended on February 1, 2026. Guests now cost $45 per adult at Capital One Lounges. Children 17 and under cost $25 at Capital One Lounges and Landings. Priority Pass lounges charge $35 per guest on this card. Authorized-user lounge access now costs $125 per authorized user. Much of the card’s value depends on booking through Capital One Travel. Full terms are on the official card page.
Capital One has no major U.S. airline transfer partner. JetBlue is your only domestic airline option for transfers.
United℠ Explorer Card
Which Card Is Best for a Taste of the Lounge Life?
Best for: occasional United flyers who want a lounge sample.
Annual fee: $150, often waived in the first year.
What Benefits Come With the United Explorer Card?
You get two one-time United Club passes every year. A free first checked bag comes with the card as well. It also includes a TSA PreCheck or Global Entry credit. That’s generous for an entry-level airline card in 2026. See the official card page for current terms.
Citi Strata Elite℠ Card
Which Card Is Best for American Airlines Flyers Who Splurge Elsewhere?
Best for: frequent American Airlines flyers who earn Citi ThankYou points.
Is the Citi Strata Elite Worth the Annual Fee?
For American Airlines flyers, the $595 fee is often worth it. Each authorized user you add costs an extra $75. The points transfer to American Airlines, which makes the fee easier.
What Benefits Come With the Citi Strata Elite Card?
Lounge access on this card comes in two separate parts. First, a Priority Pass Select membership that Citi values at $469. Second, four Admirals Club passes every calendar year for nearly 50 lounges. The Priority Pass membership covers up to two guests per visit. It does not include access to Priority Pass restaurants.
The card adds an up to $300 annual hotel credit. There’s also an up to $200 Splurge Credit each year. An up to $200 Blacklane credit arrives as $100 twice yearly. Full terms are on the official card page.
Drawbacks of the Card
If you don’t fly American, covering the fee takes more effort. The non-airline Splurge merchants may not suit your spending either. The 6x dining rate applies only on certain days and times.
Pros and Cons of Lounge Access Credit Cards
Lounge access credit cards come with real upsides and real costs.
Pros
- A lounge turns delays into usable time away from the gate. Seating, Wi-Fi and food make long layovers far easier.
- Most lounge cards earn rewards you can redeem for future trips.
- Many add travel credits and protections that offset the fee.
- For frequent flyers, a card usually beats paying per visit. Just four Priority Pass Standard visits cost $239 a year.
Cons
- Carrying a balance wipes out any lounge value very quickly. Interest on a premium card soon outweighs any lounge perk. See CFPB research on revolving balances for the numbers.
- Annual fees are high, so infrequent flyers rarely break even.
- Guest access is shrinking across several major lounge networks. In 2026, Venture X began charging cardholders for guests. Amex also limited Centurion guests to the cardholder’s own flight. The CFPB warns that cutting already-earned rewards can break the law. Read CFPB Circular 2024-07 for the full guidance.
- Your home airport may not have a lounge in your network.
Which Airlines and Card Issuers Have the Most Airport Lounges?
If raw lounge count matters most, American Express leads the field. Here’s how networks compare for anyone choosing lounge access credit cards.
How Many Airport Lounges Does American Express Have?
American Express runs 17 Centurion Lounges in the U.S. alone. Its Global Lounge Collection covers 1,550+ lounges in 140 countries.
How Many Airport Lounges Does American Airlines Have?
American runs nearly 50 Admirals Club lounges across its network. Flagship Lounges serve premium-cabin passengers at major American hubs.
How Many Airport Lounges Does Delta Have?
Delta runs Sky Clubs across its hubs and focus cities. Passengers flying in Delta One cabins get Delta One Lounges. You can find the current lounge list on delta.com.
How Many Airport Lounges Does United Have?
United has more than 45 United Club locations worldwide. Polaris lounges serve premium passengers on international United flights.
Does Southwest Airlines Have Airport Lounges?
As of November 2025, Southwest didn’t run lounges of its own. Many of its airports have independent lounges open to Priority Pass members.
What Lounge Access Really Costs in 2026: The Math Most Guides Skip
Start with the cheapest honest benchmark: buying Priority Pass yourself. Standard costs $99 a year plus $35 for each visit. At four visits a year, that adds up to $239. The no-fee U.S. Bank Altitude Connect includes four visits yearly. So an occasional flyer gets a $239 membership for nothing. Premium lounge access credit cards pull ahead once visits reach double digits. Their other credits must also get used for the math to work.
The cost that surprises couples in 2026 isn’t the annual fee. It’s the guest bill, and it grows with every visit. For Venture X, adult guests now cost $45 at Capital One Lounges. The same guests cost $35 at Priority Pass lounges. Eight visits a year adds $280 at Priority Pass rates. At Capital One‘s own lounges, eight visits add $360. That pushes a $395 card toward $700 in real yearly cost. Adding your partner as an authorized user costs $125 instead. That beats paying guest fees after the third Capital One Lounge visit.
Three 2026 rule changes can leave you stuck outside a lounge. Sapphire Lounges left Priority Pass on August 15, 2026. Centurion guests must now share the same flight as the cardmember. On layovers, you can enter no earlier than five hours before departure. Chime Prime status also changes when deposits fall below $3,000.
The fastest way to decide starts with your home airport’s lounge map. Open it before you open a single credit card application. If one network owns every lounge past security, choose that network. The best card is simply the one that opens that door.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, though the number of free visits is capped. The U.S. Bank Altitude Connect has no fee and four yearly visits. Chime Prime includes a Priority Pass membership with two yearly visits.
No, that option ended on August 15, 2026. Priority Pass members lost both the free yearly visit and $75 entry.
It depends on which credit card with lounge access you carry. The Sapphire Reserve covers two guests at every Sapphire Lounge. Venture X now charges $35 to $45 per guest visit. Amex Centurion guests must be on the cardmember’s flight.
Usually up to three hours before your scheduled departure time. Centurion Lounges allow up to five hours on connecting itineraries. Each Priority Pass lounge lists its own rules in the app.
Only if you fly often enough to use it. Prestige beats Standard Plus at roughly 15 visits a year. At four visits or fewer, a no-fee card usually costs less.
